Marc Pajot was an Olympic medallist at the age of nineteen with his brother Yves, five times world champion, winner of the Route du Rhum, and double Louis-Vuitton Cup semi-finalist as skipper.

A member of the Yacht Club de France, the Yacht Club de Monaco and the Académie de Marine1, he now devotes his time to yacht sales and consulting for the construction and fitting out of marinas.

The beginnings of the navigator

From the age of fourteen to twenty-three, with his brother Yves
Marc Pajot has distinguished himself in regattas on the international scene and has won many of the most notable titles:

- Seven times French champion
- Five-time world champion
- Silver medallist at the 1972 Munich Olympic Games in Flying Dutchman3.`

10 years on the oceans

Marc Pajot set out to conquer the oceans alongside Eric Tabarly and became a cape-horner at the age of twenty, during the first crewed round the world race, the Whitbread in 1973 aboard Pen Duick VI.

He professionalized the image of ocean racing by promoting the sponsors who put their trust in him, including Paul Ricard and Elf Aquitaine, thanks to whom he achieved good performances.

He came second in the Lorient-Bermuda-Lorient double-handed Transat in 1979 with Éric Tabarly on the hydrofoil Paul Ricard.

Marc Pajot made fifteen Atlantic crossings as crew and skipper, both double-handed and single-handed.

Elf aquitaine " The Sea Giant "

His Elf Aquitaine catamarans enabled him to achieve a series of performances between 1980 and 1983:

1980: winner of La Baule-Dakar
1981: Holder of the North Atlantic record in 9 days, 10 hours and 6 minutes with a crew
1982: Winner of the Route du Rhum on the 18m catamaran, which would be nicknamed "the Giant of the Seas".

Project manager & skipper

As project manager, skipper and helmsman, Marc Pajot brings together the best skills around him; sponsors, naval architects, engineers, tacticians and crew to participate four times in the legendary America's Cup :

1987: semi-finalist with French Kiss in Fremantle (Australia).
1992: Semi-finalist with Ville de Paris in San Diego (USA)
1995: France 2 in San Diego (United States)
2000: First America's Cup Swiss in Auckland, New Zealand.

During these twenty-five years of competition Marc Pajot has managed and supervised the creation and construction of fifteen boats.

Yacht broker

Since 2000, Marc Pajot combines a yacht broker activity where he provides yacht selection services and a Marina Consultant activity through which he accompanies marina design and development projects all over the world.
